The Presentation of the Lord. “When the time came for their purification . . . the parents of Jesus brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
. . . Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous
and devout . . . he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now let your servant
depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation which you have
prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your
people Israel.” Luke 2:22-32. St. Catherine of Sienna said, “Everything comes from love, all is
ordained for the salvation of man, God does nothing without this goal in mind.” Let us pray,
Lord Jesus, You have been presented to us. May we actually see the reality of the way You save
each one of us and echo the words of Simeon; that all is well now we can depart we have seen
the marvels, the light and glory radiating everywhere. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed.
Larry.
