from heaven, and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving
seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it
shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I intend, and prosper in the thing
for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11. Pope Francis said, “I would very much like all Christians to
learn “the sublime science of Jesus Christ” through frequent reading of the Word of
God…because as St. Jerome says “ignorance of scripture if ignorance of Christ.” Let us pray,
Lord God, You expect positive results from our life as we come into contact with Your Word. It
must have an impact. We are sorry for the times it returns to You empty and fails to accomplish
