“The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God I thank
you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector, I
fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off . . . beat his
breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!” Luke 18:11-13. William Cowper said, “Man
may dismiss compassion from his heart, but God never will.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus, it You
alone who knows our hearts; You who is the Righteous Judge. Our judgement of others is always
false for we can never know the full intentions of others. Give us the grace to refrain from
comparing with others and making ourselves the yardstick for the holiness and goodness of
others. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
