“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the Lord is trustworthy, giving
wisdom to the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of
the Lord is clear, enlightening the eye.” Psalm 19:8-9. St. Jerome said, “Not only does the
shedding of blood constitute martyrdom, but the perfect service of a soul devoted to the Lord is a
daily martyrdom.” Let us pray, Lord God, truly You have imparted wisdom to us by the Gift of
the Holy Spirit. Grant us the grace of seeking your light within, and living upon Your
faithfulness as our Rock and our Joy as You were for St. Charles Lwanga and companions. We
