Word for Thursday November 2, Commemoration of All Souls – the Faithful Departed.

“The souls of the just are in the hands of God and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in
the view of the foolish to be dead, and their passing away was thought an affliction, and their
going forth from us utter destruction. But they are in peace.” Wisdom 3:1-3.

St. Augustine said “The one who is our very life descended into our world, and bore our death, and slew it with the
abundance of His own life. Thundering, He called out to us to return to Him in heaven.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we lift up to You the souls of the Faithful Departed. We ask that You bring
them great joy today, bringing many into the eternal kingdom this day. May our Mother Mary
visit them and cause much rejoicing in their hearts. We trust they are in Your care always. Amen,
“Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
