“You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a chosen nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were no people, but now you are God’s people; had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10. St. John Chrysostom said, “Thus abide constantly with the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, so that the heart swallows the Lord and the Lord the heart, and the two become one.”
Let us pray, We thank You Father for making us Your own. You couldn’t bear to be apart from us, and so gave Your Son, and grafted us onto Him. When You see Him, You see us, living in the light of Your Son. May we live this
light, this love, this mercy, that all may see and give You glory. Amen.
