“Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again, I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’ When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished.” Matthew 19:23-25. St. John Chrusostom said, “Do you think that the man-loving God has given you much so that you could use it only for your own benefit? No, but so that your abundance might supply the lack of others.
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we have become so misguided at times, replacing the “Pearl of Great Price” with our
comforts and wants, neglecting the needs of others. We have become blind and cannot see. There are times we cannot even hear our own hearts, which long for You. Bring us Your light and joy, revive us Lord, have mercy and convert us again we pray. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
