“Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. But I shall show you still a more excellent way. If I speak in human and angelic tongues, but do not have love, I am a resounding gong, or a clashing cymbal…if I have faith to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing…So faith, hope and love remain, these three, but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 12:31, 13:1-2. St. Catherine of Sienna said, “To join two things together there must be nothing between them or there cannot be a perfect fusion. Now realize that this is how God wants our soul to be, without any selfish love of ourselves or of others between, just as God loves us without anything in between.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, You have shown us that love really is the way to live in union with You. When our hearts are hungry, then may we turn back, to the simplest command You gave us, ‘Love one another’. May love be the foundation, the strength, the way, for all we do. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
