Word for Saturday February 22. Feast of the Chair of St. Peter. “

He said to them ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter said in reply ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus said to him in reply ‘Blessed are you Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.” Matthew 16:15-17. The Catechism of the Catholic Church #1996-1997, says, “Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and eternal life. Grace is a participation in the life of God.”

Let us pray, My God, all that we learn of You is a grace – Your Holy Spirit in us, revealing the truth of who You are, Your relentless love, Your pursuit of each one. Through the intercession of St. Peter, may we come to love You more deeply in return, and so shape our lives by this love. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
