“But Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, playing with her son Isaac. So she said to Abraham, “Cast out
the slave woman with her son; for the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.” And the thing was very displeasing to Abraham on account of his son. But God said to Abraham, “Be not displeased because of the lad and because of your slave woman; whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your descendants be named. And I will make a nation of the son of the slave woman also, because he is your offspring.” Genesis 21:9-13. St. Catherine of Siena said, “I tell you, charity to our neighbors for God’s sake is the fire that cleanses the soul.”
Let us pray, Father, we marvel at Your fairness! We thank You for Your balancing act in our life and in the circumstances of life that we live in. Lord increase the grace in us that we, too, may be fair and just in our life and in our dealings. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
