Word for Thursday September 18. St. Joseph of Cupertino.

“Now there was a sinful woman in the city, who learned that He was at table in the house of a Pharisee. Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment, she stood behind him at his feet weeping and began to bathe his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and anointed them with the ointment…He said to Simon . . . her many sins have been forgiven, hence she has shown great love. The one to whom little is forgiven loves little.” Luke 7:37-38, 47. St. Joseph of Cupertino said, “The most powerful weapon to conquer the devil is humility. For, as he does not know at all how to employ it, neither does he know how to defend himself from it.”

Let us pray, My God, help us see that we have been forgiven much, all of us. May we humble ourselves at your feet, in truth, gratitude and love. May this gift of humility and love soften our hearts towards one another, breaking the bonds of fear, and setting us free. Living consciously in your saving love, may we be Christ- bearers to the world. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
