Word for Friday September 19. St. Januarius, Martyr.

“Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities. Mary, called Magdalene from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Suzanna and many others, who provided for them out of their resources.” Luke 8:1-3. St. Januarius said, “It is better for me to die for Christ than to reign over the whole earth.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, you lived a very human life, walking long hot days with friends to many towns. You grew tired, but had so many people to see, so many teachings to give. And when your eyes rested on someone, the extraordinary love poured out, along with words of everlasting value. We thank you Lord Jesus for all your acts of love when you walked the earth. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
