Word for Friday October 3. St. Theodore Guerin.

“And the evils and the curse that the Lord enjoined upon Moses, his servant, at the time he led our ancestors forth from the land of Egypt…cling to us even today. For we did not heed the voice of the Lord, Our God, in all the words of the prophets whom he sent us, but each one of us went off after the devices of his own wicked heart.” Baruch 1:20-22. St. John Chrysostom said, “Be ashamed when you sin, don’t be ashamed when you repent. Sin is the wound, repentance is the medicine.”

Let us pray, Heavenly Father, we as a nation and throughout the world have sinned against you. We have devalued life and made gods of money and all manner of things. Send your Holy Spirit anew, to bring a surge of repentance in our country and in the world. May love and life prevail. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
