“Brethren: Let not sin reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:12-14. St. Philip Neri said, “Do not grieve over the temptations you suffer. When the Lord intends to bestow a particular virtue he often permits us first to be tempted by the opposite vice. Therefore…see the temptation as a promise by God that you will be successful, if you only stand fast.”
Let us pray, Loving Father, while here on earth we are constantly fighting to remain good and holy but temptations lure us away from You and we commit sin. We are sorry. But we want to live good and holy lives with the grace Your Son won for us through His death and resurrection. Lord may we yield to You rather than to Satan in all circumstances of our temptation. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
