Word for Monday January 19. St. Marius.

“No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins; but new wine is for fresh skins.” Mark 2:21-22. St. Gregory the Great said, “We must break the old habits of the flesh if we wish to obtain the newness of the Spirit.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, You call us to be renewed and transformed, reminding us that new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins. Grant us the grace, Lord, to let go of the wrongs of the past and to be healed from old ways that no longer give life. Save us from patchwork faith and half-hearted change. Create in us clean hearts and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to seek purity of heart, purity of intention, and purity of life, walking faithfully in Your truth. May we follow Your perfect example with humility, courage, and love. We surrender ourselves to Your renewing work and trust You to make all things new.Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
