“Paul an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God for the promise of life in Christ Jesus, to Timothy my dear child…I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and a sound mind. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to Our Lord.” 2 Timothy 1:1, 6-8. St. John Vianney said, “The priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus. When you see the priest, think of Our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Let us pray, My God, you gave the Church holy hands to pass on your very power, from bishop to priest, that we may receive your sacraments and grow in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. May we live the gifts we have received: power and love and a sound mind. May our priests be blessed through the intercession of Sts. Timothy and Titus. Amen
