Word for Wednesday January 28. St. Thomas Aquinas.

“Jesus said to them…the sower sows the word…As soon as they hear, Satan comes at once and takes away the word sown in them…Those sown among thorns are another sort. They are the people who hear the word, but worldly anxiety, the lure of riches and craving for other things intrude and choke the word, and it bears no fruit. But those sown on rich soil hear the word and accept it, bearing fruit thirty, sixty and one hundred fold.” Mark 4:14-15, 18-20. Pope Francis said, “I would very much like all Christians to be able to learn ‘The sublime science of Jesus Christ’ through frequent reading of the word of God, as the sacred text offers nourishment for the soul and is the pure source of the spiritual life of us all.”

Let us pray, Lord God, teach us what it takes to receive your word and keep it, to bear fruit one hundred fold. In your mercy, make our hearts fertile ground, that we may live by your word, that it would be food for our souls. Lord Jesus, give us ears that hear, that we may follow you and serve you in all we do. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
