“Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your pallet, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his pallet and walked. Now that day was
the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, it is not lawful for you to carry your pallet.” But he answered them, “The man who healed me said to me, ‘Take up your pallet and walk.’” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your pallet, and walk’” John 5:8-11. St. Augustine said, “Where charity is, there God is.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we thank You for coming into our lives, healing us and doing marvelous things among us. Yet sometimes, when You bless and restore, people focus on trivial matters instead of rejoicing in the gift of life. Grant us the grace to judge rightly and to value what is truly precious. Teach us to place fraternal love above the law and above all lesser concerns. Amen. St. Patrick: pray for us. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
