Word for Friday April 24. Sts. Mary of Cleophas and Salome, Disciples of the Lord.

“There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision… ‘Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of a man named Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul.’…Ananias replied ‘Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil
things he has done to your holy ones…But the Lord said to him ‘Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine.” Acts 9:10-11, 13, 15. St. Francis de Sales said, “Consider all the past as nothing, and say, like David: Now I begin to love my God.”

Let us pray, O God, who of us can know your plans, or understand your ways. Saul who became Paul, became your servant in preaching and teaching, and suffering all manner of trials for spreading the Gospel. We thank you that no one is beyond your mercy, you have called everyone. St. Paul, pray for us! Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
