“Jesus sat down and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and put in
two small coins worth a few cents. Calling his disciples to himself he said to them, ‘Amen I say to you this poor widow put in more than all the others…for they contributed from their surplus wealth, but she from her poverty gave all she had.” Mark 12:41-44. St. Teresa of Calcutta said,
“Wash the plate, not because it is dirty, nor because you are told to wash it, but because you love the person who will use it next.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, you always go straight to the heart of the matter. It is the love with which we give that gives anything its value. Open our eyes, to see as you see, to be concerned with Godly things rather than appearances. Help us to become truly generous and really present to the people in our lives. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
