Word for Sunday September 19th. “The Apostles had been discussing on the way, who was the greatest. Then Jesus sat down, called the twelve and said to them ‘If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” Mark 9:34-35. St. Maximilian Kolbe said, “God sends us friends to be our firm support in the whirlpool of struggle. In the company of friends we will find strength to attain our sublime ideal.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus, how much of the time we are concerned our wants, our ways of how things should be. Help us to look into the heart of people, that we may see others truly as our brothers and sisters, and that we may strive in love to be true friends to those we meet. Amen. “Let your light shine!!”
