Word for Sunday December 5th. “Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

“Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Luke 3:4-6. St. Ambrose said, “Open wide your door to the One who comes. Open your soul, throw open the depths of your heart…and run to meet the Son of eternal light, that illuminates all men.” Let us pray, Father, every soul was won over by the death and resurrection of Your Son. May we receive the grace to cherish this gift and so prepare ourselves accordingly as John the Baptist is requesting us: straighten the paths, fill the valleys, even the hills and mountains, straighten the crooked and smoothen what is rough. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry
