Word for Thursday January 20th. “And the women sang to one another as they made merry, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him; he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands; and what more can he have but the kingdom?” 1 Samuel 18:6-8. St. Therese of Lisieux said, “Holiness consists simply in doing God’s will, and being just what God wants us to be.” Let us pray, Father, forgive us the sin of comparing some people with others. You gift us differently and each has his or her unique mission on earth. Save us also from the sin of comparing ourselves with others for there will always be differences and grades among us. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
