Word for Sunday January 23rd. “Jesus unrolled the scroll, and found the passage where it was written: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor…liberty to captives, recovery of sight to the blind and to let the oppressed go free.” Luke 4:17-18. Nelson Mandela said, “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus, You came to us for freedom, from all that binds us.
May love replace fear in our hearts, that we may live in this freedom – choosing to serve You, and truly taking the time to see You in others. Amen.
