Word for Thursday February 10th The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.

. “The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. He said to her ‘Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the food of children and throw it to the dogs.’…She said ‘Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.’ He said to her ‘For this saying, you may go, the demon has gone out of your daughter.” Mark 7:26-29. St. Pope John Paul II said, “Apart from the mercy of God, there is no other source of hope for mankind.” Let us pray, Lord God, the woman begged for her daughter, though she had no standing to rely on, only Your mercy and goodness.  May we too Lord, rely wholly on Your mercy and goodness, for we have no merits of our own.  Amen.

“Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
