Word for Friday August 15. Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head, a crown of twelve stars. She was with child, and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth…She gave birth to a Son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron
rod…Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘Now have salvation and power come, and the Kingdom of Our God, and the authority of his Anointed One.” Revelation 12:1-2, 5,10. Saint Alphonsus Liguori: said, "Jesus did not wish to have the body of Mary corrupted after death, since it had once been the living temple of God. Therefore He took her into heaven without letting her body see corruption.

Let us pray, Our Father, truly we cannot understand what it is, to live full of grace, to will only Your will, to say yes to You in everything as the Blessed Mother did on earth. We desire these things, but we fall short, always. We ask the intercession of our beautiful humble Mother Mary, to pray for us. May she keep us bound to her Immaculate Heart and lead us more deeply into the heart of Jesus we pray. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
