Word for Friday, August 19.

“Then he said to me: Prophesy over these bones, and say to them: Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord . . . I prophesied as I had been told, and even as I was prophesying I heard a noise; it was a rattling as the bones came together, bone joining bone . . . Then he said to me: Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They have been saying, “Our bones are dried up, our hope is lost, and we are cut off.” Ezekiel 37:4-11. St. Francis of Assisi said, “Lord, help me to live this day quietly, to lean upon Thy great strength, trustfully…To wait for the unfolding of Thy will…to meet others peacefully with joy, to face tomorrow confidently and courageously.” Let us pray, Loving Father, we thank You that You always bring a new hope: the sun rises after a dark night, it rains after a drought, new joy and peace are shared after disastrous losses; all because at Your Word all can be transformed! Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
