“Jesus said to his disciples ‘Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world, but lose his own soul?” Matthew 16:24-26. St. Anthony of Padua said, “Christians must lean on the Cross of Christ just as travelers lean on a staff when they begin a long journey. They must have the Passion of Christ deeply embedded in their minds and hearts, because only from it can they derive peace, grace, and truth.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, to take up our cross seems so hard at times. We want to avoid suffering and we want to find our own way in the world, anything other than surrender to you. But you Lord are the Way the Truth and the Life.
We ask for the grace, to say ‘Thy will be done’, lead us on the path you have chosen for us, only keep us yoked to you My Jesus, our Life. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
