“Zadok became the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud, Eliud the father of Eleazar.  Eleazer became the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary.  Of her was born Jesus, who is called the Christ.” Matthew 1:14-16. Someone said, “Suddenly, all of my ancestors are behind me. “Be still” they say. Watch and listen, you are the result of the love of thousands.” Let us pray, Lord Jesus – you are truly God, and truly human.  These are the names of your ancestors – we look eagerly ahead to the time, when we will meet yours and ours, face to face in your heavenly kingdom.  Heavenly family, pray for us! Amen.
