“Out of the depths I cry to you O Lord; Lord hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to my voice and supplication. If you O Lord mark iniquities, Lord who can stand? But with you is forgiveness, that you may be revered. I trust in the Lord; my soul trusts in his word. My soul waits for the Lord, more than sentinels wait for the dawn.” Psalm 130:1-6. St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer.”
Let us pray, Lord God, we will wait upon you this day. We will set aside our screens and preoccupations and turn our hearts towards you. May silence be our companion as we listen for your word. May your peace settle our bodies as we struggle to be still, just for a time. Lord God, as we give you this sliver of our lives, may you in turn pour out an avalanche of grace. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
