Word for Friday July 25. St. James, Apostle.

“Brothers and sister: We hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us. We are afflicted in
every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-10. St. Alphonsus Liguori said, “What does it cost us to say ‘My God, help me! Have mercy on me!’ Is there anything easier than this? And this little will suffice to save us, if we be diligent in doing it.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, we thank You for the resilience You give us Your beloved children! We confront so many things which would normally throw us down and paralyze us; never to stand again. Yet Your power sustains us from one challenging encounter to another. Lord, may You be honored and glorified all the time. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
