Word for Friday March 20. St. Claudia.

“Ungodly men reasoned unsoundly, saying to themselves, “Let us lie in wait for the righteous man, because he is inconvenient to us and opposes our actions; he reproaches us for sins against the law, and accuses us of sins against our training . . . Let us test him with insult and torture, that we may find out how gentle he is, and make trial of his forbearance. Let us condemn him to a shameful death, for, according to what he says, he will be protected.” Wisdom 2:1a, 12-22. St. Francis de Sales said, “Be gentle and patient with everyone, but especially with those who suffer.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, make us humble in the face of ridicule, humiliation, and insult, following in the footsteps of Your Son. Grant us the grace to remain gentle before those who wound us, trusting that You will receive and reward every burden and sacrifice. Place kind and consoling people along our path to strengthen us when we grow weary. Keep our hearts from discouragement and from responding with anger. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
