“I love you O Lord my strength, O Lord my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. My God, my rock of refuge, my shield, the horn of my salvation, my stronghold! Praise be the Lord, I exclaim, and I am safe from my enemies. The breakers of death surged around me, the destroying floods overwhelmed me, the snares of death overtook me. In my distress I called upon the Lord…from his temple he heard my voice.” Psalm 18:1-6. St. Francis de Sales said, “Anxiety is the greatest evil that can befall a soul, except sin. God commands you to pray, and he forbids you to worry.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, you truly suffered in all your humanity. Evil tried its very best to conquer you, with the ‘destroying floods overwhelming you.’ But you always trusted your Father – and he heard your cry. O God, you suffered so for us. May we always cry out to you when we are in need,
