“On a sabbath Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully. In front of him there was a man suffering from dropsy. Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and the Pharisees and asked ‘Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?’…Then he said to them ‘Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern would not immediately pull him out on a sabbath? And they could not answer him.” Luke 14:1-3, 5-6. St. Faustina Kowalska said, “If we only knew how God regards this act of mercy: any act of mercy enriches the soul and gives joy to My Heart.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, we judge harshly for others at times and wish for mercy for ourselves. Your way was simple – love one another, let mercy prevail, treat others how we want to be treated. May the Holy Spirit lead us in ways of compassion and true help for those who have lost their way – may we humble ourselves, one to another, and bear Your light to the world. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
