Word for Friday within the Octave of Easter April 25. St. Mark, the Evangelist.

“Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat; but that night they caught nothing. Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the beach . . . said to them, “Children, have you any fish?” They answered him, “No.”
He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, for the quantity of fish. That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” John 21:3-7a. St. Alphonsus Liguori said, “The holy name of Jesus is, first of all, an all-powerful prayer…each time we say ‘Jesus’, it is an act of perfect love, for we offer to God the infinite love of Jesus.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, the Word and all that is done in the Name of Jesus turns out in a mighty way. John said, “It is the Lord!” attributing the big catch to Jesus’s Word. Lord may we know the power of Jesus’ Word and the power in calling upon His Name! Holy Spirit inspires us to pray and engage all our life’s activities always in His Name. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry
