Word for Monday After Epiphany January 6. St. Andrew Corsini.

When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee…and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Nephtali, that what had been said through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: Land of Zebulun, land of Nephtali… Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light.” Matthew 4:12-16. St. Augustine said, Remember this. When people choose to withdraw far from a fire, the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold. When people choose to withdraw far from light, the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness. This is also the case when people withdraw from God. Let us pray, Heavenly Father, from the beginning Jesus included all who would listen to him. The region of Zebulun and Nephtaliwas filled with Gentiles and yet here in this northern most area, Jesus went to live and preach and heal. Lord Jesus, come to us, in the darkest recesses of our hearts. Bring healing we pray, where You find pain, regret and hardness of heart. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
