Word for Monday August 12.

“What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tribute? From their sons or from others? And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. However, not to give offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel; take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.” Matthew 17:25b-27. St. JoseMaria Escriva said, “Don’t let your life be barren. Be useful. Make yourself felt. Shine forth with the torch of your faith and your love.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, though You were not meant to pay tax, You went ahead and paid because You did not want to be the downfall or give offence to others. Give us the grace to always think of giving good example and inspiration to others. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry
