Word for Monday June 2.Sts. Marcellinus and Peter, Martyrs.

“I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory which you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20-23. St. Pope John Paul II said, “Jesus is living next to you, in the brothers and sisters with whom you share your daily existence.”

Loving Father, may the entire Church take seriously Your Son’s prayer for us to be one. May we seek what unites us; what brings us together on this common journey to You and in You; as children of the same Loving Father. Father, lead us to solutions in the many issues which separate us that we may enjoy the unity in which You are glorified. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
