Word for Monday June 3, Uganda Martyrs Day.

“Brethren: If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?  . . . Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” Romans 8:31-32, 35-36. St. John Paul II said, “I plead with you! Never ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid!”

Let us pray, Father, we thank You for the gift of the Uganda Martyrs, young, courageous, witnesses to the faith they had just embraced. No one, nothing would come between them and You, their God. Their witness is heroic; share with us this heroic witness in our day to day life. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
