Word for Monday November 3. St. Martin de Porres.

“Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees. He said…when you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends…relatives or wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you in return. Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because they cannot repay you.” Luke 14:12-14. St. Peter Chrysologus said, “If you hope for mercy, show mercy. If you look for kindness, show kindness. If you want to receive, give.”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, may we not overlook people, deciding some are not worth our time or energy. Help us we earnestly pray, to see others as they really are, one with us in You. May we widen our circle of friends, and seek out the poor, the infirm and those in need of friendship. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
