Word for Monday October 4th. Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. “Teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life? Jesus said to him ‘What is written in the law? How do you read it?’ He said: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:25-27. St. Augustine said, “I was not yet in love, yet I loved to love . . . I sought what I might love, in love with loving.” Let us pray, Father, help us to love You with all of our being. In this way may we overflow with loving actions for those around us, and draw others to You. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
