“Observing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving them to be uneducated ordinary men, the leaders, elders and scribes were amazed, and they recognized them as the companions of Jesus. Then when they saw the man who had been cured standing there with them, they could say nothing in reply…so they called them back and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.” Acts 4:13-14, 18. Blessed Henry Suso said, “Faith in Jesus and in the power of his Holy Name is the greatest spiritual force in the world today.”
Let us pray, O God, may we be bold and wise like Peter and John. Even today people often want no sign or word pertaining to Jesus. His name makes people nervous; there is power in his name. But Peter and John would sooner stop breathing than stop teaching in Jesus’ name. Father, may we too live deeply in Jesus, that we will always mention his name. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
