Word for Saturday August 30. St. Rose of Lima.

“Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said ‘Master, I knew you were a demanding person harvesting where you did
not plant, gathering where you did not scatter, so out of fear, I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.’ His master said to him in reply, “You wicked lazy servant!” Matthew 25:24-26. Pope Francis said, “Dear young people do not bury your talents, the gifts that God has given you! Do not be afraid to dream great things!”

Let us pray, Lord Jesus, by Your grace may we do better than the lazy servant of the gospel. Because of ungrounded fear, he hid the treasure his master gave him. You have given each of us treasures Lord. Sometimes we hold back due to false humility or even laziness. May we nurture these gifts instead, and be generous in blessing people with them. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
