Word for Saturday August 31.

“Consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to the flesh, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to
nothing things that are, so that no flesh might boast in the presence of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:26- 29. Pope Francis said, “Among us, who is above must be in service of the others. This doesn’t mean we have to wash each other’s feet every day, but we must help one another.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, it is only You who has lifted every one of us to where we are now. No one can
boast that it has been his or her own efforts, intelligence or ability. Lord, we thank You for this favor. Enable us to lift many as You have done to us all. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
