Word for Saturday December 21. St. Peter Canisius, Priest and Doctor.

“In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country . . . and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the child leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb . . . And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what
was spoken to her from the Lord.” Luke 1:39-42, 43-45. Mother Teresa said, “Spread love everywhere you go, first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to your next-door neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better or happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness, in your face, your eyes, your smile, your warm greeting.” Let us pray, Loving Father, we thank You for the closeness You bring between people, like Mary and Elizabeth. We thank You for their generosity and hospitality. We thank You for all that takes place when we meet, greet and share with others. Make the fruit of our life
worthwhile, make us the blessed as we journey in our faith. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
