“And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. And they had a few small fish; and having blessed them, he commanded that these also should be set before them. And they ate, and were satisfied; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. And there were about four thousand people.” Mark 8:6-9. St. Gregory of Nazianzus said, “Without shame and without doubt, eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ, if you are desirous of true life.”
Let us pray, Lord Jesus, it was part of Your mission to quench the thirst and heal the hunger of humanity. We thank You for leaving us the Eucharist which feeds and heals us. Continue to bless us in our daily breaking of the bread that we may continually feed, grow and increase in goodness and also in feeding others and compassion towards them. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
