Word for Saturday February 24.

Jesus said to his disciples: You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:43-45. St. Francis of Assisi said, “That person truly loves his enemy who is not upset at any injury which is done to himself, but out of love of God is disturbed at the sin of the other’s soul. And let him show his love for the other by his deeds.”

Let us pray, My God, we often forget to pray for those who hurt us or cause us harm. Grant us the grace Lord, to choose to pray. By an act of the will, even should we feel no compassion, may Your grace prevail within us. May love and forgiveness flourish, for we are Your children. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
