Word for Saturday February 7. St. Richard.

“At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.” And Solomon said . . . O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am ut a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in . . . Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” 1 Kings 3:5, 7, 9. St. John Chrysostom said, “A wise man does not mind being poor, so long as he is rich in wisdom.”

Let us pray, Loving Father, though young, Solomon sought not what he desired but what he needed. Understanding and discernment are precious gifts from You. Send Your Holy Spirit to anoint us with all we need to live wisely and grow in true greatness, serving You and others with the gifts You have entrusted to us. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
