“[And David said], Saul and Jonathan, beloved and lovely! In life and in death they were not divided; they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions . . . Jonathan lies slain upon your high places. I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; very pleasant have you been to me; your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.” 2 Samuel 1:23, 25-26. St Bridget of Sweden said, “We must show love for those who do evil to us and pray for them. Nothing is dearer or more pleasing to God than this.” Let us pray, Lord, give us the magnanimity of David; he mourns his enemy Saul and his friend Jonathan in the same breath. Lord, give us the grace to take off time to mourn our loved ones in a befitting way. Amen. “Let your light shine!!” Be blessed. Larry
