“The Lord appeared to Abraham by the Terebinth at Mamre, as
Abraham sat at the entrance of his tent, while the day was growing hot. Looking up he saw three
men standing nearby…and ran… to greet them. And bowing to the ground he said “Sir…please
do not go on past your servant…” Genesis 18:1-3. Henri Nouwen said, “Hospitality is not to
change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.” Let us pray, My God,
Abraham lived waiting upon You, and so recognized You in these visitors. Help us to begin
again each day, seeking You, resting in You, so that we too will recognize You in everyone we
meet, that we may greet each other with friendship and hospitality. Amen. “Let your light
shine!!” Be blessed. Larry.
